Felix Dennis’s life in publishing began in the late 60’s with counterculture magazine OZ. Rising from street Vendor to co-editor in the space of just two years, Dennis’s time with the underground magazine highlighted the power of cult followings, and led him set up Dennis publishing in 1974. His entrepreneurial spirit and ability to find gaps where others couldn’t saw him quickly become one of the UK’s best known publishing moguls. As its traditional revenue streams come under threat from trends like newsstand decline, ad blocking and view ability standards, it had to react. “We have so many different and evolving revenue streams” says Julian Lloyd-Evans, its Chief Revenue Officer. “Partnerships, programmatic, e-commerce, licensing – but this isn’t to the detriment of our traditional revenue – we remain focussed on delivering engaged audiences for our clients, and that is key to our success. Dennis has been successful for give decades now and you can only do this if you stay relevant for your audiences and customers, and stay passionate about what you do.”
