Denver, Colo. – June 24, 2020 – As restaurants reopen in accordance with public health guidelines, many will do their best to create an atmosphere of normalcy despite workers and patrons wearing face masks, 50 percent occupancy and tables maintaining six-feet distance at all times, but a few have taken advantage of two months of closure to innovate to be able to open with a more touch-free dining experience.

Denver’s Wynkoop Brewing and Cherry Cricket’s Cherry Creek and Ballpark locations, in partnership with Denver-based SpeedPro, a large-format printing company with locations across the US, launched new signage technology to provide customers with a touch-free, menu-less dining experience post-COVID-19.

Touchless menu technology is strategically positioned within signage at a restaurant’s high-interaction customer touchpoints like host stands and on dining tables, now allows customers to simply hold their phone up to the sign or decal which then opens the restaurant or brewery’s menu via the web browser on each guest’s mobile device.

“Signage is playing a bigger and more critical role in our restaurants than it ever has before. It’s involved in almost every aspect of the new guest experience and is helping to guide our teams and guests on how to navigate this new normal, fundamentally shaping how we interact with each other when we dine out,” says Alex Bunn, Director of Marketing for the Breckenridge-Wynkoop Group. “Touchless menus create safer dining out experiences for us all.”

“We knew this touchless technology would change the customer experience. We were in the process of developing it prior to the pandemic and have expedited launch in order to aid businesses in social distancing efforts to provide a solution to a critical need restaurants and many other businesses face today,” says Larry Oberly, CEO of SpeedPro. Touchless menu tech allows the ability to provide more than what can be printed on the display. Customers can be directed to website links, video files, audio files and other types of communication which can play a critical role in business and community safety right now.

Smart signage is available to businesses outside of the restaurant industry as well. “Imagine walking into a museum, retail store, hospital — anywhere information is shared — and simply holding up your phone to access instructions, exhibit information, a discount or wayfinding information. While we’re in the early stages of launching more smart signage tech, we’re excited to see how creative every industry can apply smart signage,” adds Oberly.
